The webcams are not currently streaming, they are static images pulled in when the images are queried. One of the cameras should have a timestamp on it now set to the local time.

Could a clock be placed in Some area on the wall in each view of the cameras? It would help with determining smoothness of the video feed at times of limited to no movement, and help realizing time zone differences and whatnot

Yes, we did (used part of our thong-o-phone, as a matter of fact).

Most of the energy of the sound comes from upper harmonics, which makes it hard to get a standing wave going, as slight variations of timing from the arduino have a more pronounced phase-distruptive effect.

Haven’t given up tho, it was by no means an exhaustive test. I’m sure we’ll get a tube going at some point. Need to get clear tubes tho; one of teh great audience interest points of the Arcophone is the sparking, and we only had opaque white plastic tubing when we tried.

Yeah, you could mic it, but it would be much cooler with acoustic amplification.

Did you try driving the tube at its resonant frequency? An easy way to test is to do a slow frequency sweep between say 100 and 1000Hz. If its going to work at all you’ll be able to hear it ring when you’ve hit one of the resonant modes. If you take a 50cm tube closed at the bottom, you should hear the peaks at about 170Hz, 515Hz, and 860Hz. If there’s no obvious effect, then I guess its not going to work.

Does it transmit any sound through the electrodes? If so, I guess you could just mount them directly on a box resonator.
